ReFace on Sunday Arts

ABC’s Sunday Arts program recently played a segment on our ReFace project from the last Perth International Arts Festival.

The ReFace website is still going strong, keep posting your pics!

grivbot @ the Condor Car Park launch

Due to me being in Hillerod, Denmark, I needed a way to get my face into the car park launch… grivbot was the answer. What I didn’t plan on was masses of people that showed up and basically choked the wireless connection. Quick to the rescue was Paul Bui, who connected his laptop up through his phone and became my surrogate for the evening. He did whatever I asked of him, and although he’s a little shorter than I’m used to, I got to talk to people and generally experience the event… all whilst getting drunk on the couch. A big thank you to Paul and to those of you that took the time to say hi!

Below is the skype recording, sped up 3000% so you don’t have to watch 4 hours of it. The music is “Good” by Philly Blunt, who provided the slick beats for most of the night.

We’re still in the midst of collating launch pics and footage… stay tuned for updates.

griv visits Malmo

Sonic Youth Sensational Fix RecordsWent day tripping to Sweden on the ferry from Denmark… fun times. Walked (and paddle boated) around Malmo and stumbled upon Sonic Youth etc: Sensational Fix, an exhibition by / about the band and their influence on alternative culture over the last 28 years. Was really impressive. Everything from their old guitars and tour posters to video / sound installations. Saw the little knitted toy from the Dirty cover! Kim Gordon had a bunch of her stuff in it. I can’t believe she’s 56.

We weren’t meant to take photos but I had to get this one, who’d have thought a room 3 inches deep in vinyl would be so soft to walk on?

Check it out if you’re in the area.

Around the streets I found a secluded colourful wall with one of the best pieces I have seen in a while. Definitely my kinda place.

griv visits London

London Underground ololo StationWasn’t in town long and wanted to do some paste ups but got way too drunk at Shunt Lounge and ended up distributing the posters throughout the venue. Anyone visiting London should definitely check out Shunt. It has a really cool vibe and is filled with all things weird and wonderful, with different performance art / film / music each night. Definitely a highlight of my week. Thanks to znort and co for helping me out!
